What Are We All About?

In a time of growing religious diversity and tensions, the Evangelical Chapter of the Foundation for Religious Diplomacy helps evangelicals practice a neighborhood theology of multi-faith engagement that embraces the Christian practices of love of neighbor and enemy, and hospitality, while maintaining faithfulness to evangelical convictions. Get Involved

We need your involvement in this work. Here are some of the opportunities:

Start a Loving Our Religious Neighbors study group in your church. Set up a Diplomacy Dinner with Christians and neighbors from another faith. Arrange a multi-faith joint service project to benefit your community and deepen relationships.

Get trained and equipped as a Multi-Faith Ambassador who provides the leadership and resources in your church, college, university, seminary, and local community for engaging your multi-faith neighbors as an ambassador for Christ.

Visit our Get Involved page to learn more about these options, as well as our many volunteer opportunities locally, regionally, and nationally.

Resources

Our Education pages features a variety of resources, including articles, recommended books, podcasts, and videos that discuss issues related to multi-faith engagement, interfaith, and religious diplomacy. Our chapter Custodian is also available to speak in your church or other small group.

Louisville Institute Awards Multi-faith Matters a Supplemental Grant

In 2014 we received a grant from the Louisville Institute that has funded a Collaborative Inquiry Team of three pastors and three scholars called Multi-faith Matters. During the three years of the grant we collected church case studies and stories positive on evangelical multi-faith engagement. One of the project results was a website to tell church stories of love of neighbor and hospitality.

In 2017 we were awarded a supplemental grant for two years entitled "Multi-faith Matters: Evangelical Multi-faith Engagement, Purity Concerns, and Persuasive Storytelling." You can read more about this at our blog post.

View one of our grant project outcomes, a video, that tells the story of evangelical Christians loving their Muslim neighbors below. In 2018 the grant team began the transition into a ministry initiative. As a result, we expanded and revised our work and website.
